I thought I'd go back and watch the Martinez v Salido rivalry.. both of these bouts happened in 2015.. I'd forgot how good they were.. Martinez won the 1st deservedly dropping Salido twice & the 2nd was a draw which many thought Salido did enough.. both bouts were relentless slug fests , prison rules apply.. well worth a rewatch.. He was good.. JMM made him look kind of bad and the countless low blows that he gave Loma in their fight didnt sit well with me. It made me look at him in a different light.
Ya he definitely has a lot of rough edges, and poor elements, poor moments... but the overall totality of what he brought as a fighter, was pretty savage, just imo. I hated how he tainted all the great stuff he did with such negative elements. Didn't he get busted for PEDs too?
Yea he was on them roids at one time. He sure as hell tainted his career with all the negative elements as you say. I would have loved to have seen the Loma rematch, i think Loma would have beaten him in the rematch.
