Kovalev never referred to himself as an unstoppable force or the future of boxing and he never talked about taking the souls of his opponents.

The way Ward got into Kovalev's head he had Kovalev mentally beat before the fight even started and I made a thread about it here before the fight. He bullied the bully and made him quit.

I dont see how they can be very comparable. Broner legitimately got humbled that night and was escorted out of the ring on the verge of tears. Eubank feels he won the fight... so its not like he even feels he took an L. Not sure just how satisfying it can be to a Eubank hater that he lost when Eubank shrugs it off as a win  And he lost to one of the best in the division above his own... not like he lost to some fellow contender.

    Meh.

Although I agree with most of it, I don't think it's a "division above his own" like you mentioned. I really doubt Jr can move back down, as he always had difficulties making 160 in the first place.

    That Eubank performance was embarassing.
Had more fun watching Broner get hia ass whooped because he fought back. It was a much better fight.

Maybe if Groves had KOd Eubank.
Btw, i am a Eubank fan.

he called out a world champion AFTER getting exposed.

thats appalling. He doesnt even know how to look sensible....that was obviously the speech he rehearsed should he win.

Check out Dale Evans on getting defeated - this is what a classy man says after defeat -

I'm aware of this. The fact remains he entered the tournament at a weight class above his natural weight. After beating Quinlan Eubank always said that he planned to operate at both 160 and 168. I think he had some lofty ambition to hold world titles at both weights tbh.

no fact remains except that he had proved himself to a degree at smw. He was fine at the weight, since it is where he had his greatest success to date.

I agree that calling out Truax straight after was weak. However he had just been in a 12 round war. You can't possibly expect him to make reasonable and informed statements immediately after. That's why I never personally hold fighters to their comments in the post fight interview in the ring. Their heads must be all over the place.

that is fair, heis head was battered 100%.

maybe he thought he'd really won, i dont know...due to the blows he had received messing wiht his thinking.

and consideringf groves "i won and i am champ rerally not froch" was oppositie him.
