reminded me of seeing Tommy Hearns being hit on the chin. Ronnie just can't punch at all. He was either too hurt to get up, or he had, had enough. Yorgey knew that ronnie couldn't punch, and just kept walking through Ronnie's shots. Sugar did the same thing to Tommy. The thing is, you had to put Tommy's lights out. Ronald is done. When you lose to a guy like Yorgey, it is time to hang them up. I thought ronnie was done after the second knockdown, but he did get up. I thought he would come back to stop the guy, and then BOOM...lights out!!!

When is Dirrell going to step it up? I like Dirrel, but I like seeing his brother more. The super middle's all need to be fighting each other, and the youngens need to step their game/comp up. The SMW division could be a very hot division if the guys all started to fight each other. Hopefully they will real soon.

Sam Peter has to go back to the drawing board, and go on a diet. Chambers...as good as he is, just isn't a big enough heavy. He gave Povetkin all he could handle, and Povetkin is a small heavy. The Klit brothers are fighting in a time where the heavies just aren't big enough or good enough. They are lucky.

taking a punch is not his only problem. He is slow and not very accurate. And his defense has huge holes

Fair enough about Hearns I guess. But did you read the article on front page ESB the other day? It suprised me a lot, and showed me things I did not "guess" about Hearns Jr.

Hearns Sr. would NOT let Jr. near a boxing gym until the day he came home with a college degree. When Jr. tried to get into gyms, Sr. done had it arranged to have his ass thrown the fook out. Jr. came home with a college degree and got to START boxing for the first time at age 25!! He just turned 30. Add that up, and the man has only been boxing for 5 years..PERIOD..with NO ams. experience.

I say he did pretty good to make it as far as he did.

All he'd done his life is play the normal US sports and was best at BasketBall where he played in college.

All I mean is nobody proclaims him great, he's NOT gonna be his daddy, and prolly deserves a break?

Tommy Hearns after his son lose asked Yorgey if that was his wife who came into the ring. Yorgey said yeah. A comment later both were laughing lol. Can you picture Tommy saying, "Yo man, you beat my son so I'm going to take your wife" lol. I then pictured Tommy telling Gina on the sitcom Martin that she can roll with him and Frank Lyles... who was on the episode with him lol. Tommy even smooched a kiss, and Martin challenged Tommy to a 10 round fight lol.

Now for Dirrell. I agree with you on him. High time to step it up and see what can he really do. I know that dude last night was terrible, but it didn't stop from being able to see how lightning fast he is, along with apparent power. That dude last night was built out of bricks, and could prolly win some cast iron chin award.

But Dirrel's people got to stop puttin' him in the ring with scrubs like that if they want folks to get behind Andre.

Dirrell also seemed to get frustrated that that dude wouldn't go down..or get hurt..and for a minute it looked like he was gonna do the "Curtis Stevens" Run Athon again.:-(

IMO, he could look really good if he had a dance partner that actually knew how to "dance". You know?

It takes years to learn boxing. I laugh when a person thinks they can walk in a gym, and have a great change to ko a boxer because they have arms. Hearns Jr. is proof enough that if you have not learned to block a right hand or a left hook, that this sport is dangerous, and can kill you. I thought that when Hearns Jr. stayed down on his knee, he was seriously hurt. Glad he is ok...

That was pretty amusing. Yorgey almost seemed starstruck when daddy Hearns came up to congratulate him after the fight.

Tommy Hearns is a big idiot for doing that to Ronald. Ronald should have been a Kronk regular since age 2. He would be a World Champ today instead of struggling.

On one hand I guess, but on the other, Jr. has a Law Degree. Just couldn't stop him from wanting to fight. Hard to balance I guess, Jr. could have made MILLIONS off of one fight if he'd been brought up like PBF, learning from the time he could walk and talk. I guess SR. just didn't want to see his son take "the same road" he did, if he didn't have to?

From Front Page ESB: Ronald Hearns Q and A
NEW YORK (March 26, 2009) – Ronald Hearns loves March and all the madness that goes with it. The son of legendary eight-time world champion Thomas “Hit Man” Hearns, Ronald earned his college degree in criminal justice from American University in Washington D.C.

I don't know if I'd call that stupid, Mr. Presscott. He has a good "fall back" plan, IMO.

Maybe from a boxing perspective, but not from a real life perspective. Hearns now has a college degree and can make money doing something other than boxing. Even if he trained since he was 3, chances are that he wasn't going to become a top-tier boxer who cam make million dollar purses. Further, not getting hit in the head during his formative years means he's a lot less likely to suffer from brain damage or pugilistic dementia. Look at Hearns himself. He's not 100% there anymore. Why would he want to resign his son to the same fate if he thinks there's a better way to get him to be self-sufficient and lead a good life. Tommy grew up poor, Ronald grew up rich. There was no reason for him to need to box to get off the streets.
