Kind of getting into him for not fighting everyone, cleaning out the divison.

Since when did HBO care about that kind of thing? Why didn't he ever request that from Floyd?

I don't think he's ever interviewed Mayweather after a fight.

I considered starting a thread on the utter disprespect showed to Lockett by these morons. I was embarrased.

Yeah, he was a little too persistent in his point, even going so far as to almost suggest Pav was taking a series of easy fights before he caught himself and said: "I realize it's only one fight."

C'mon, Kellerman. The guy can only fight one person at a time. He did Miranda and Taylor twice. Even Hagler had an occasional Caveman Lee to break up his giant fights.

Pavlik has to go where the money's at since he's reached the status he's at ... I can't blame him for fighting Calzaghe - the money would be good and it would definitely generate some good money ...

Pavlik should clean up the division ... but I think with his win over Taylor he's put enough clarity in the division as to who the man is at 160 ...

Abraham should be a fight to look for but it wouldn't be out of the question to fight at a higher weight if Abraham should get past Miranda a second time ...

Sturm sucks and doesn't really grant much clout if Pavlik were to fight him ... and no one really knows who he is ... he's only fought once in the US and people have already forgot about him. He lost to Castillejo and doesn't deserve any respect.
Sturm is a light middleweight fighting at middleweight ...

Kelly is the type of fighter that does that to people. he makes you want to talk match ups and makes you long for the days past when fighters did clean out divisions because he is in turn, a throwback fighter. Kelly's variety, power, and solid technique is truly a joy to watch. I look forward to the pick em' fight that would be Pavlik - Calzaghe. Max Kellerman was similar to the tide tonight, complete with his own ebbs and flows.

Max also has shown great respect for Floyd in recent post fight comments ... he did Mayweather v Gatti ... and he did a Cotto fight and managed to talk about Floyd during that fight.

He said that Floyd is the linear champion and doesn't need to fight anyone to solidify that status ... he said that Floyd is the champ and until someone beats him - no matter who he fights, he would still be the champ.

I think he feels the same way about Pavlik - its just that Pavlik's reign at MW can pay dividens in the long run ... he's very exciting and the 168 pound division is in limbo w/ Calzaghe in between super middle and light heavy.

Add to that how entertaining is it to see Pavlik knockout these guys ... there's nothing wrong w/ madatory defenses ... there a neccessity in boxing and there's no avoiding them.

Pavlik is the man at MW ... and it would be cool to see him take everyone out before moving up in weight.

I also liked how Pavlik talked **** about Calzaghe and said no one knew who he was until he beat Hopkins ... I think that comment alone will add few to a good pre-fight build up for Calzaghe v Pavlik ...

I didn't catch this because I was in a bar, and by the time everyone cleared out all I heard was Kellerman talking about cleaning out the division, ala Hagler and Sibson.

Can you tell me what was being said?

He said that before Hagler fought Duran, Leonard, and Hearns, while he was champion, he cleaned out all the top middleweight contenders such as Sibson and Hamsho and that's exactly what Pavlik needs to do.

Ah, calm down - Max Kellerman was just being Max Kellerman, a second-rate version of Jim Lampley and Larry Merchant combined.

I thought he was fair enough - when you ask a boxer who they plan on challenging next, you expect a name, rather than 'oh, let my management make ALL of my decisions'.

Still, Calzaghe, Jones, Abraham, Miranda, and Sturm are all decent names for him to face.
