He basically refered to Lockett as an 'easy' defence and chided Pavlik a little for even fighting him. Kind of made reference to well, yeah it was a mandatory. If he could have dressed Lockett up in tomato can costume and made him stand their bludgeoned and bleeding, I think he would have to add to the ridicule. I exagerate, but not much. But that was the gist of his lack of tact.
He only recently won the freakin' title. How could he clean it out by now? He's not allowed to have one mandatory, allowing to actually keep his belt while he cleans the divisions? He'll get to Abraham, assume King Arthur wins his rematch with Miranda.
..and selling Lockett as a legit contender would have been better? Come 'on.. Lockett was a tomato can in there last night. They just told it like it was. He was a mandatory, so that's why the fight was made, but it was nothing more than a stay busy fight.
I wish someone would cut off Kellerman's scrotum, then wrap it around his head like a plastic bag and suffocate him with it. ****in hate that guy.
According to Boxrec's rankings @ Middleweight these are the top guys... (IMO Kelly Pavlik has a good chance to win Vs. them all) 2. Ronald "Winky" Wright 3. Arthur Abraham (IBF Champion) 4. Jermain Taylor 5. Sebastian Sylvester 6. Daniel Geale 7. Raymond Joval 8. Felix Sturm (WBA Champion) 9. Enrique Ornelas 10. John Duddy With 2,3,& 4 the only possible threats for him at Middle. (IMO) I say Pavlik campaigns in both divisions after he knock's out Rubio. Middleweight is pretty dried up, Super Middle has more juice.
But then you just get the next generation coming along. Olajide, Tate, Nunn, Graham were all sidelined while Hagler took on Leonard, Hearnd etc....
I just want to knoow how is it that Kellerman can get on Pavlik, insisting that as the champion it's his responisibility to clean out the division;yet, he never mentioned the same thing about Floyd. Isnt it the same situation?
It is but Max sees little hearts when it comes to black American fighters. Especially flashy boxer types. It seems if the guy is white and from Ohio then Max has a truly rational response. And that is the type of response HBO announcers should have been hitting Floyd with everytime he fought!
Well some tact to show respect for Lockett was still in order. It isn't that hard to come up with the words, especially since he probably rehearsed that little speach ahead of time.
Who cares what they say. They don't know Taylor has moved on? Do they know Winky has had 3 fights at middle, the last over a year ago?
