Why would there need to be a catchweight for the MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLES OF THE WORLD ??

 

This isn't comparable to what Manny has done. This is as if Manny had been fighting at a few weight classes his entire career with no problems, fought a dude like Marquez, barely won, then asked Marquez for a catchweight at a lower weight, but Marquez had made that weight most of his career. It's still lame though.

Completely different.

 

Catchweight title bouts are nothing new at all.

Pacquiao is just doing it more often.
