PAUL WILLIAMS apparently Williams replaced Mijares on the list, so what do you think?....does it make since, agree with the list or disagree? i personally disagree.....but whateva
I have no issue with that top 10 - It's just pound for pound, it really means nothing at all - Who cares?
The welterweight division as an entirety is hugely overrated on this list. I see no logic in Margarito being above Williams. Cotto's continued presence in the top ten is very inconsistent with tha fact that Hatton, Pavlik and now Mijares were thrown out of the top ten after a defeat. And Hatton and Pavlik lost to people rated far far higher than Cotto did.
Cotto was tko'd in a very close, competitive fight. Mijares was dominated, lost every round, and was knocked spark out. Pavlik was completley out boxed by an old man and lost by a wide UD. Hatton was still in the p4p after losing to Mayweather, it was only after failing to KO and getting badly hurt a couple of times by apast his best lightweight he got dropped from the list. I'm undecided on whether Cotto should still be in their, but he clearly has a stronger case than the others. What still doesn't make sense to me is how Paul Williams is below Cotto in the p4p ratings but above him in the welterweight ratings. That's some ****ed up logic there.
Old man has nothing to do with it. We're not handicapping for age. Someone who is the 4th best P4P boxer in the world and happens to be 43 is as good as someone who is 4th best P4P boxer in the world and is 28 years old.
Pavlik Cotto Pavlik lost over This content is protected to a This content is protected at This content is protected than usual weight. Cotto got This content is protected by relatively This content is protected Margo. Why is Pavlik the one that goes out of P4P? Clue: The Ring has become increasingly Latino-biased and is now owned by Golden Boy and we should expect it to be a top 10 best Latinos (with the occasional fighter that beat some latinos in it).
Why isn't Darchinyan on the list? How often do you get an undisputed champion?! He definitely deserves to be above Williams who won a close fight with Mago and split fights with Quintana.
