Darren Hamilton won the British title at 3 days notice. Alafoabi beat Enzo Macc at a weeks notice. If you don't have a fight and your below domestic level you should always be ready.

 

This always had the looks of light run out before a proper fight in June. At least hopefully that's the case anyway. Happen to be in London that weekend anyway so might have to end up giving F*ank some cash as thats looking not too bad a bill now.

 

Good, lets get this fight outta the way so Selby can claim the Lonsdale belt and move onto bigger and more meaningful fights against quality opponents.

 

the one loss on selbys record also looks to be building himself a nice career. anybody got any insight into him and is a rematch likely?

Selby is with Hearn now, this fight is on the undercard of Rose vs Alcine in Blackpool. So I wouldn't go splashing out just yet.

 

Yeah I know. The two bills are on the same night but I'm in London in any case so if I can manage it I might try and get to the Wembley bill. Although even if I can I won't be purchasing until the last minute given the history of that show!

 

Selbys intentions were declared in the post fight press conference so anyone serious about challenging for the British belt would have had a good 10 weeks notice.

When speaking with the fighters managers in the UK none of them were keen on their fighters boxing Selby regardless of what the fighters themselves say.

There's is a nice video on youtube of the Aussie sparring Chris John, havn't the tine to find it atm but worth a watch.

Think there will be a lot more meaningful challenges once he steps up to European level.
