Nice fight. I watched Simion twice or so boxing before Bute. Interbox didn't sign him. He is very solid boxer but fought mostly in Romania.

Selby is more active. Simion is Gamboa's generation, amateur background. Both bronze medallists at the 2005 World Championships.

Simion actually fought Gamboa at the World Cup in 2005 in China losing by stoppage.

Will be nice to see the invisible man again. Don't think I've seen Selby on Ringside once since his Blackpool outing in April on the Rose undercard.

needs a bg step up after this i am believer in strking whilst the iron is hot no need to wait around, do not want him to turn into another Kell Brook.

Simion is a pretty good fighter to test if Selby can go higher or will he show that his limits is closer to the current level that he fought at until now.

Good fight this. Selby to win inside the distance and take a further step towards a world title shot.

Hearn isn't the same as Frank. If you look at the way Frank brought fighters through to world level over the years and the way Hearn has started off you can see they have different business models. Not saying which is right or wrong, but I can see Selby fighting for a world title in somebody else's backyard. Especially with Rees now slipping meaning a Matchroom card in Wales looks unlikely in the near future. So Selby will be built on the back of other people. In essence it's a promotional shortcut.

With Frampton not impressing Matchroom and Sky enough to get another fight in Belfast even though he was packing out the Odyssey, it's a good job Selby has the experience of being brought through on the road.
