John's desperate to get the chance to win his titles back.its a lodgical fight to make and a very winnable one imo
I think John could do it. A>B>C logic doesn't stick in boxing, so despite Smith's (iffy) wins over Simpson and loss to Selby it doesn't mean this isn't a match-up worth talking about.
selby is guna get snatch up by a big promoter a couple of easy defences get his name out there on sky then the rematch v smith.
selby lost to a guy called samir mouiner ,samir mouiner got badly robbed in the ABS a few years back to steven smith .
After being robbed twice by Smith i think Simpson is the perfect opponent to take on Selby, should be a good fight
Selby looked a strong, tough customer. Simpson would dominate on the inside but like Smith last night would find it very dangerous actually getting inside, Selby would be happy to let John walk him down and set traps as he came in. This fight would start slow as both tried to figure each other out and get their timing. Afterwhich it would develop into a War, I'm taking Simpson to find a way but Selby will be there all night. It's got pain written all over it.
Really didn't see this one coming, thought it would be a smith win on points, it's easy saying it from the armchair but I think smith threw that fight away, credit to selby though, he deserved his win but to me be didnt look all that tbh
What would be the situation regarding Simpson then? I'd imagine he was no 2 behind smith prior to last night. Would he be the next mandatory or would the board announce a final eliminator? Going on the closeness of the smith fights (IMO simpson won both) you would think that Simpson would be next in line. Lindsay wouldn't be ahead of him. Would the winner of Murray vs Male be mandated (Whoever wins this, I'd still have Simmo and Lindsay in line before them)? Would be a hell of a fight if Selby and Simpson get it on!
Thats a bit strong Smith was a different fighter with simpson much busier and more ideas they were two well fought fights with smith edging the first and simpson not doing just enough to edge it in the second, give the lad a break. And last night it was plain to see it wasnt the same smith fighting.
