Select your Top 5 Most likely these Top 5 here have a case to make it to Top 100 ATG Boxers of all-time.
Usyk Ward Crawford Golovkin I'm unsure between Donaire/Gonzalez I'd have to look at their records. But I think those 6 names are the right names or maybe I could leave Golovkin off the list.....not really sure atm.
i went crawford, gonzalez, loma and ward. couldn't decide the 5th. martinez was good but he's the only one who doesn't really have an argument for that place.
cotto has some losses that should weigh against him. boy could he fight. shows how narrow these historical questions are.
He definitely should be on the same tier Golovkin is, at least. Yet Golovkin is beloved around here and you never read not one positive mention about Cotto.
I don't think he should be on the same tier as Golovkin because he was never considered the best in any weightclass, very good fighter of course but i think he was always a bit below the very best fighters.
Oh but you are not comparing the guys around Cottos weight class and era, with the ones around Golovkin.... Golovkin fought guys that you never heard before or since anymore... Going by that logic Jack Sharkey should be rated above Holman Williams or someone like that (was Holman Williams ever the number 1, I really don't know, I beleive not); I am making a extreme example, but it's the same logic.
Yes Cotto did fight in tougher divisions but i don't think he was on same tier as Golovkin regardless, Golovkin was a better fighter overall regarding skill set, power, durability, etc.
In no particular order. Usyk Donaire Cotto Crawford Ward Gonzalez really up there too, but he's not as celebrated so he's not top 5. Fury, Golovking and Sergio aren't ATGs
