'78 holmes needed a bad decision to beat a shot norton. then wouldn't rematch. holmes had a great jab, but ruled over a horrible time. also ducked like few others. never made one attempt to unify the three titles.

One of those titles was over in Africa. Holmes hadn't the support of the people at the time to go to Africa like Ali did.

After a cautious, tentative first round, Lewis returns to his corner and tells Steward, "I have him". Steward sees a pattern, and tells Lewis exactly when to throw the right.

At the start of round two, Lewis comes out aggressively, feinting to draw a counter left from Holmes. Holmes falls for it, and Lewis LEVELS Holmes with a massive overhand right. Holmes, of a normally solid chin, collapses onto the floor, as the crowd gasps in shock.

Is the fight over already? Or can Holmes beat the count?

Holmes has nothing on Lewis, nor Wlad.

Holmes is better than Wlad at every aspect of boxing other than a little power. So i don't know what you're talking about

Shoot... I'd give this one to Lewis since I have more respect for his chin and versatility than I do Wlad's

Wow... I can't believe there's a chance that the final will end up just being a rematch of a fight we already saw

And what's even worse... 70% of why is because of that damn size advantage, nothing more

The only thing that's got me on the fence is that I saw Mercer having very good success against Lennox with his jab, and we know the kind of jab Holmes has. It'd be an interesting dynamic that would dictate the outcome of the fight for me. Lennox has a hell of a track record against orthodox sluggers, but those who can jab with him (like Mercer) could keep it close.

However, Holmes' lack of one-punch power would hurt him in this matchup against the bigger, stronger Lewis. I'm not so sure Larry's got the one-shot firepower to keep Lennox honest and really make him pay if he's caught being too lazy in the ring.

Over three fights, I think Lennox takes it, but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Larry got the first fight.

This is a harder pick than Holmes V Wlad for me but I've gone the other way really...against the logic. By that I mean, I can see Holmes schooling Lewis quite readily, for all Lewis' athletic prowess he never had the coordination or balance of Holmes. Neither did he have the *gulp* ring generalship.....

Just see Lewis out-manning Holmes, forcing the issue and basically bullying his way to victory 2-1. I'll give Holmes his due and say he takes one of the three by a wide UD.

Being honest, not sure about this fight. Think it would be real close with Lewis starting as the favourite. I'm going for split decisions and even a draw in the 3 fights. Think these two are equals. Holmes had more heart than Lennox, but Lewis is larger, stronger, more power. Might just give him the edge, but I see Holmes being so up for it against Lewis......hmm I will vote for Lewis believing he will get the decisions, not necessarily deserving them though.

Holmes, badly hurt, manages to miraculously rise to his feet. The crowd is in awe, as it the slightly deflated Lewis. "What can keep this man down?", he thinks to himself. Still, he sees Holmes on wobbly legs, and surely he can't survive another assault. Lewis closes in for the kiss, and Holmes holds on for dear life. Holmes is no stranger to this level of danger, and he's always been able to rely on his almost supernatural recuperative abilities.

With a minute to go, Holmes employs every trick in his Assassin's Manual to neutralize any offence Lewis attempts to launch. "Survive this round, get 'em next round" he whispers to himself as he clinches onto Lewis like a vice grip. As the ref breaks the third clinch in a row, Holmes lands a short right square on the bigger man's jaw. The ref glares and warns Holmes, who shrugs sheepishly. Sure, it was illegal, but it also stunned Lewis, who backs away long enough for the bell to ring.

"Survive this round. Get 'em next round", as he walks to his corner, legs still wobbly...

Brittards and their alts will carry Lennox all the way through. This series of threads was an interesting idea but the conclusion was quite obvious.
