Senchenko to make mando defence against American Brad Soloman

Welterweight titlist Vyacheslav Senchenko (32-0, 21 KOs) of Ukraine will make a mandatory defense against American Brad Solomon (17-0, 7 KOs) after Senchenko's promoter, Union Boxing Promotions, won a purse bid this week for a stunning $1.1 million. As titleholder, Senchenko is entitled to 75 percent of the winning bid ($825,000), with Solomon due 25 percent ($275,000, a career high by far). Heavyweight Factory, Solomon's promoter, which offered $200,000, was the only other bidder. The date and venue for the fight aren't set, although it will likely take place in Ukraine, where Senchenko has fought all but three of his bouts. Solomon hasn't fought since a career-best victory against Demetrius Hopkins (by lopsided decision) in March.

from Dan Rafeal, thought id post to show he is out of the mix for Brook.

    Dodgy decision?

Soloman's actually a good fighter, Senchenko is barely any better than Nuzhenko, who Matt Hatton beat ffs.

Rob him...Solomon is getting about ten times his average purse...he should bite their hand off...also, Solomon has a promoter and he had the right to bid. This is a business.

    Adios.

I'm sure I've got Solomon in my 'Rooq's Thread' team.

I reckon he'll win this. He's more than capable of beating Senchenko clearly enough not be robbed IMO.

Exactly my thoughts, Soloman is a good boxer but not enough to finish Senschenko who will probably have a 4 point advantage handed to him by the judges

Solomon deserves his shot. He's consistently gone in as the b side fighter against prospects and contenders and got the job done. I fully expect him to win this so clearly that it makes a robbery impossible. He's had to be brought along the tough way without any major promoter. He is better than brook imo
