You'd probably give the job to Duran, whether or not he would do it is hard to say. I could envision it happening perhaps in the later rounds.

true enough, but 15 rounds is 15 rounds. One of the things Ali said was that if you have to move 2 or 3 steps to every one of your opponent (Foreman in this case) you're not going to win the stamina component of the fight. Meaning it's possible Whitaker ties down the stretch, and if he does get hurt, it's also possible he doesn't finish the fight.

Not saying it would be a wise bet, but these outcomes are certainly possible.

before you laugh me out of town;

to stop whitaker first you gotta actually hit him, and floyd has the handspeed and technical nous to actually do that. he is also one of the only guys who could build a lead, force whitaker to chase the fight and maybe make a mistake.

duran and b leonard also good shouts imo, perhaps leonard moreso.

 

The only problem with that is I think it would likely be the other way around. Whitaker, I think, would win the early rounds forcing Mayweather to have to make any adjustments.
