Toney was really sharp against Holyfield though. He didn't look fat or anything. Every other incarnation of him at heavyweight is basically a different story.

 

I genuinely don't see Lewis stopping him. He'd be content to paw and build up a points lead.

Maybe Foreman could do it, but he also might get Jimmy Young'd by him.

I don't see Frazier doing it either. He was too small.

But this is James Toney we are talking about! His defensive skills are sublime, but if his chin wasn't 100% granite he'd have not made his way up to HW without being stopped. So it's tough to pick a name and really put faith in them doing the job!

I do think that Lennox Lewis maybe the one man not named Mike Tyson to do the job. Possibly Wlad, too.

 

Thomas hearns? Hahaaha robinson? Stopping the much bigger toney? Máxim was too much for him.. Not even a chance. You need a 185 plus pounder puncher to do it. And i am not sure.

Folks, Toney was rocked and knocked down at middleweight. Reggie Johnson did it. Roy Jones did it. Tiberi had him gasping and quite uncomfortable. I highly skilled operator who pushes the pace hard and had decent, tho not necessarily great, clout could have pulled the trick.

Going for lumbering heavies who match Toney's preferred pace in this topic isn't the right direction.

 

Dempsey wouldn't dare get in the ring with Toney, so no point in even speculating on that one.

 

There's video evidence of Toney slapping G-Man around. Those two aren't in the same class.
