People are forgetting how inconsistent James in his prime could be...

I'm assuming we're talking about an in shape Toney.

 

What makes you think James would get hit flush like that?

 

Id give Frazier at least a 50/50 chance. Frazier was a very high energy fighter and Toney hated those guys. He was lazy as **** in the ring and only wanted to fight at his pace. Combine fraziers activity with his power and i could see him getting toney out of there. The only reason i could see toney surviving would be because against those high energy guys he shut down and just coasted in defense mode. Tiberi and Thadzi werent **** compared to tons of other great fighters from mw to hw. If those guys could make toney hide in his shell then frazier and a lot of other greats would too. If Toney tries to actually win against Frazier then he gets stopped Imo. If he tries to survive then he probably would. Its really hard to stop a guy who isnt trying to win. Thats how Chuvalo got his reputation and all of those losses.

Toney is on the list for guys who have landed the most punches during a fight. He wasn't that lazy if you came to him.
