Besides Joe Louis or Jack Dempsey, what heavyweight from the year 1900 to 1939 would you send in to wreck the 1997 version of Lennox Lewis?

If Louis isn't optional, then I guess Baer? He had that monstrous right hand which Lennox was famously susceptible to if he got lazy defensively.

Maybe Maxie can clown Lewis, get him comfortable and that guard down, before going over the top with a right.

Well Dempsey & Louis were my only selections, so…

Not even Louis or Dempsey get it done, prime Lewis demolishes them both

I agree he demolishes Dempsey, but not Louis. Lennox couldn't even demolish 40 year old Holyfield on two occasions

Dempsey is no Mercer, that’s for sure.

That was at the absolute height of his career, too.

I would try going with a slick boxer. Gene Tunney or Bob Pastor perhaps. I wouldn’t favor any of them but I’d rather try that approach than sending in a come forward puncher.

Don’t recall anyone outboxing Lewis. I do remember two men without one punch KO power knocking him out with one punch.

Lewis rarely If ever fought slick boxers which is why you never saw it. He regularly destroyed slow moving come forward punchers with crap defense Which the 90s and early 2000’s were filled with

Agree with this. Maybe Conn. I mean he's hella light in the pants but he could probably run all night and make Lewis chase him. I don't fancy anybody whose gameplan is to trade with Lennox and that includes Joe.

Jack Sharkey woudl be worth a try.

He would probably find a way to blow it of course, but you are not exactly long on good options.
