A bit of a long shot, but might be one of the more viable options.

Dempsey & Louis are not such fighters.

Lewis will be the slower man in the ring with Dempsey or Louis. Especially Dempsey.

I was going to mention him but I don’t want Lewis to get “ Moidured”

No Dempsey! He will be sitting ringside with you, watching the festivities

The best guys during that period were Sharkey and Schmeling.
Both showed great durability against power punchers and had top of the line skills.
    More specifically:
Sharkey because of his victories over Godfrey and Wills who were massive hitters, as well as his durability against Schmeling (despite losing to him) and Dempsey who had to resort to fowling to get the upper hand, a tactic Lennox will hopefully not be allowed to use (or Sharkey for that matter).
And Schmeling for his obvious incredible win over a puncher even better than Lewis himself. He has phenomenal stamina, a superb right hand, smart as it gets, with a very good defense.
I saw M. Baer being mentioned but he lost to 3 boxer-punchers, Braddock and Nova being two of the three so I'd expect Lewis to replicate the victory despite Baer being a dangerous match up for his chin, power and stamina.

I'm cheating by picking 2 guys so if forced to pick one I'd go with Schmeling, he won the their match up in actuality so i'll let him proceed in this hypothetical scenario.

I'd put anybody in the ring if I get a chance to sit and watch the fight with Dempsey.

You make a good case for Schmeling

Max Baer is the only man I see having a chance.

I'd favour prime and focused Lennox heavily against any of them except of Joe Louis which would still be 50/50 fight in my opinion.

I'd give a remote chance to right-handed punchers like Schmeling and Baer to catch Lewis with a right hand and knock him out cold but it would be a very slight chance against focused Lewis, and even slighter one for Dempsey and Wills.

As for slick boxers, I have no idea how Lewis would have handled Johnson or Tunney since he never fought top level defensive fighters in his career, but I'd still favour Lewis heavily against them due to his size advantage.

No, I'm actually not that big of a Lewis fan, but there's the whole size and skill argument, and I think Lewis was the tipping point where he was the largest with the most top tier skill, after him size increased but skill started to diminish

Louis would for sure be the better fight, but backed by Steward with the jab and heavy right, it would be very dangerous for Louis, although Lewis' chin would perhaps be suspect against Louis, I'm just not sure Louis could get in without taking some big shots
