There is none. Even Joe Louis loses to Tyson.

BUT... Get Joe Louis to train and eat like a guy born in the 60's and maybe he has a chance.

Charles came in to prominence as a top flight heavyweight towards the latter part of the 40s. He had the skills give Tyson some problems if he didn’t get caught but I don’t see a victory there

    This is an interesting idea.

Louis just had way too many skills and resilience to not overwhelm Mike in 6 imo. I do see Joe suffering a knockdown, though.

The only fighters I don't see succumbing to Mike h2h are the Holmes who beat Ali, 70s Foreman, Lewis with Steward, 1964 to 1974 Ali, Sonny Liston (Patterson 1-era), and FOTC Frazier.

Can I get a tag team going on? Send in the superheavies of the era one by one to just play octopus and tire Mike out, and then when he was good and tired, send in Joe Louis? No? Then this thread sucks. Everybody is getting KO'd.

If Al Gainer beat Galento, he could beat Mike too.

I am not liking my chances here, but I will give it a shot.

Max Baer would at least have certain stylistic advantages, so I will push him out of his corner.

Bob Pastor at least keeps moving, and that gives him something to work with.

Perhaps George Godfrey really was the monster that people said he was, and he was just wearing the cuffs?

I don't think that Schmeling was elusive or durable enough, but I woudl probably have said the same thing about him beating Louis.

Since we are desperate here, why not throw in Jack Sharkey, and pray that he somehow keeps his head on his shoulders?

    Best I can do.

That is a good point, Tyson could be neutralized by big huggers, but it was usually at the cost of a lop sided decision.

I don't think that sending in the giants is the way forward here.

Perhaps Baer ties him up and pushes him back and fights like Holyfield

Good luck finding anyone, even Louis.

I respect the Hell outta the brilliance of the Brown Bomber, but he's not beating the 88 Tyson.

Quite possibly no one would outside of the 66 Ali.

Leaving out Joe Louis, from that era, I would give a motivated and serious Max Baer the best shot of pulling off a win.

Max Baer has about as much chance as Max Kellerman of beating the 88 Tyson.
