I pick Hopkins to beat him myself. He matches up brilliantly physically and your comments are spot on in that one. He is actually taller and only an inch shorter in reach. He's also just so adaptable as you point out. I go your way and look at quicker guys for Bernard. SRR would be my pick and probably RJJ second. Hopkins was a long way from peak when they fought but Jones speed and sheer brilliance would always be tough.

Your picks are virtually flawless. Greb is a bit of an unknown on film but i'm not convinced any of the "knowns" would beat SRR anyway.

People tend to forget how tall Hopkins was because he fought with his chin tucked with that turtle shell style behind the shoulder. He was about six one but didn't really fight tall but when he had to he could.

He had heaps of height and reach without ever looking stringbean or being fragile in any way. He was an extremely well rounded and versatile fighter, particularly before he got a bit tired at 160.
