I don't think any LHW could "beat up" Ken Norton. Even rehydrated a LHW might be 190lb at best, surely? Norton would have 30lbs on the dude. If I had to pick a LHW to beat Ken I reckon I'd go the opposite route to picking say, Beterbiev who would be the obvious choice. I'd take somebody like Bivol, with The Flash type speed and very light feet, so that he could land and be gone before the heavier slower guy can hit back. Norton wasn't particularly fast although his timing was good. I'd gamble on Bivol on points, and trust that his super speed can get him past any rough bits.

    Hi Buddy.
Good call with Galindez, mind you back in the day he was thought of as being more of a counter puncher, of course he could rumble forward, and was a very imposing fighter in that regard, but he grew into more of a thinking man's box/fighter, would be interested in some of the elder posters thoughts on my summation ?

I’d pick Charles and Johnson over him. Maybe Archie too

I wouldn't necessarily pick them but they would be my 3 best choices.

Moore and Charles … I like Galindez too, intriguing discussion there … and I give Foster a puncher’s chance because Kenny didn’t have the chin of Ali or Frazier, Foster nails him solid and there’s a good chance he goes down.

    Good points, pal.

I am leaning more in the Johannesburgo version of Galindez, the tough as steel who endured a savage 15 rounds war against Kates. The referee's shirt was so smeared with blood he looked like a niight of the living deads survivor... actually I heard that shirt is now in a boxing museum in Southafrica.

I like Norton technical abilities a lot, but I doubt he would be able to survive a gruelling non stop bloddy battle versus Galindez. Kenny is gonna need more than his cute crabby thing to deny Galindez.

Stay safe pal, good to know the Tiger of Moron is remembered in this board.

Norton would be considerably bigger and went to war with Ali and Holmes.

Bob Foster was a banger at light heavyweight, but didn't seem to carry that power to heavyweight.

He was just big enough to be dominant at Light Heavyweight, but when he moved back up to Heavyweight, he wasn't a small town sheriff anymore, and it showed.

True but like I said he was throwing at some folks who could take a punch better IMO than Norton.

The jab, uppercut, and hook won’t.

Norton's chin wasn't bad. He seemed to be only vulnerable to ATG heavyweight punchers sans Garcia. But the Garcia loss happened when Norton was relatively inexperienced.
