What light heavyweight would you pick to out box Frazier, even if Frazier eventually won. But what LHW would you say could give him a nail biter of a fight?

No slick LHW is beating Frazier, he is too good at cutting the ring.

I love Conn but he would get stopped in 10, ditto with Tunney, Loughran, Johnson etc.

IMO Archie Moore's crab defense and traps could confuse Joe for a while before Frazier breaks him down. I could see Archie scoring an early knockdown

My pick is Sam Langford. Langford was accustomed to giving up weight, hit very hard, was tough and skilled. Do i favour Sam? No. I would pick Frazier to tko him or win a decision. But Langford could rock him, slug it out with him, and just make things interesting and entertaining while it lasts.

All of the above have a very good chance.

    Didn't you read the man's question ?!
He asked who would outbox Frazier even if they were to eventually loose the fight.

Charles is probably the best pick. He knows how to deal with a left hook, and he knows how to deal with constant aggression. As a boxer-puncher, he wouldn't have to keep running from Frazier, he could stay in the pocket, Toney style, and tie Frazier up when things got hairy. Frazier beats him, of course, the size difference outweighs the style advantage here, but if they were the same size then Charles would stop Frazier.

Conn isn't really a good mention IMO. Swarmers were awful for that guy, and they don't get much better than Frazier.

Loughran is a decent mentioned too, since Joe didn't have an overhand right good enough to exploit Loughran's low lead. Plus, Loughran's style of defence is the safest I've ever seen. He's just never in position to land clean on. Extraordinary. Frazier likes breaks him down through physical force, but Loughran gives a damn good account himself.

Spinks could do what he did with Qawi for a few rounds, but I think he ultimately goes like Foster did. Just a few rounds later.

Gene Tunney would be running like a thief. Not nearly enough to win.

Harry Greb, based solely on the fact that he was able apparently able to give Dempsey fits in sparring

I agree that Loughran would be bad for Frazier (although he'd still lose). Tunney in contrast would fare worse, because he was more agressive than Tommy (more similar to Ali in that aspect, although he had better defense to my taste).

Spinks geeky style would have Frazier really struggling imo.

None. Of all the great Heavyweight Champions, Frazier would be the hardest to beat. You are not hurting him. He is on you like stink on **** and you are fighting to survive the entire time. Smoke is a big truck lol

I wouldn't pick any to beat him.
Charles might have a shot of making him look bad.I'd be interested in watching Joe handle a good ,heavy hitting lhvy southpaw like Moorer.

Does the Olympic Light Heavyweight Gold Medalist of 1960 count?

I can't see anyone weighing in at say 175lbs day of the fight and beating him. Not unless Roy Jones manages to light him up early, knocks him down and he becomes cautious.

No, FOTC Frazier beats any Ali.
