Well, Duran was a lot different at 135 than at 154 - much more mobile, but yeah, even for that version of Duran it’s a step too far to be giving up 12 pounds in weight and over half a foot in height. And on top of that he has to ‘demolish’ Hearns?

On that basis, Robinson would be my pick but at 135 I don’t think that green version of Robinson ‘wrecks’ Hearns.

Yes, demolish. It must be a wrecking of epic proportions.

No one would ever demolish Hearns at that weight, even the great Sugar Ray Robinson. Henry Armstrong would be another good pick but I would not be confident at all. Hearns on his day was out of this world and I have always felt he would beat guys like Mayweather.

Thoughts on sending in a prime Whitaker, anyone?

Very few rate Whitaker as highly as I do but even I’m going to say no.

He was an incredible fighter that I feel is slept on. Still I’m probably going to have to agree with you - I think Hearns gets him out in the later rounds after a tough opening.

Not prime Duran - reach and punch leverage.

Armstrong is also at the same disadvantage that Duran had when he faced Hearns.

Hearns at his best at 147 lbs isn't going to be destroyed by a smaller, come forward fighter unless they're someone of immense one punch power, phenomenal movement and ability to force Hearns backwards.

It's not going to happen but if we're going to say a greater than 0% chance (however incredibly small) I'll say Rosario, Pryor and possibly Ike Williams if he stuns Hearns and goes nuts on him like he did Beau Jack.

Hearns is probably the worst stylistic matchup for Floyd possible. That's the only fight I would confidently bet on Floyd losing. Even Uncle Roger said Hearns is a dangerous fight for Floyd

Agreed although I think SRL would have a good chance with him. I would give Floyd the edge with Duran but again these guys would have pushed him harder than arguably anyone he fought.
