Mike McCallum and Toney would put in a decent effort. Other than that nobody.

I can see Hopkins potentially frustrating spinks but yeah he wasn’t a career middleweight and nor would I favor him anyway

I worded it that way because I knew people would name the usual suspects of Charles, Moore, RJJ

Hmm? yeah I think so. Spinks is far more dangerous than Tarver or Glen Johnson who starched Roy like a dress shirt

Maybe Harry Greb and Gene Tunney, they were good boxers who could easily transition to a heavier weight. Carlos Monzon and Marvelous Marvin Hagler were comfortable in the middleweight division, both were great and knew their limitations, they did not fall prey to greed. Bernard Hopkins did transition easily as did Roy Jones Jr. Michael Spinks was a boxer that fought at times very unorthodox as in his victory in the title unification bout against Dwight Muhammad Qwai in 1983. The threat of the Spinks Jinx was another factor. Canelo Alvarez would easily be outclassed like in his bout against Floyd Mayweather. Roy Jones Jr would also be outpointed by Michael, speed alone is not a guarantee to a victory, Roy lost to Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson, both nowhere as good as Spinks, who also had longevity on his side. Michael has defended against very good quality opposition during his title reign. and unified the title against a very dangerous opponent in Qwai as mentioned above.

Spinks could definitely have knocked Roy out, but you’ve used skewed logic.

We’re talking here about a prime Roy.

Glen Johnson would have been lucky to have won a round off of a prime version of Roy.

By your logic, Ruiz should have knocked Roy out. He was a 230 pound HW who was far more dangerous than Johnson.

Greb and Fitz first come to mind, I'd like to see Spinks and Stanley Ketchel though I don't think Stanley could win the fireworks would light up the arena.

Those greats would make for a good fight against Michael Spinks.

Danny Green also knocked out Jones.

FYI Tarver could punch really hard. I would bet he punches at least as hard as Spinks.

Neither is Spinks a southpaw. You could say Jones never fought anyone as good as Spinks at LHW, but the same argument can be applied the other way round as well.

The logical choice is Greb with his speed, chin, stamina and conditioning ..

    Roberto Duran deserves a mention.
