Emile Griffith would just be so small. Emile eventually walks into something that he can’t withstand what’s his plan? - those other guys you listed from recent years are not 147lbs or 160lbs.

Emile would still have his quickness and knew how to fight guys bigger than him which we saw in the second Monzon fight. Foster, imo, wasn't as good as Monzon at controlling range even if he is a bigger puncher. Maybe Griffith walks onto a big left hook early in the same fashion Hurricane Carter dealt with him. Maybe he's able to outwork Foster in flurries while darting out of range and wearing him down with a consistent body attack. idk, none of us do, it's a hypothetical, that's the fun of it. And yeah, that was the point of picking guys from the day before weigh in era, so they wouldn't be at such a big size advantage. They were all still able to weigh in under their respective weight limits so their body weight was, on every occasion they fought, at either 147 or 160. If all the past greats had day before weigh-ins, they too would have tried to game the system to get an advantage by fighting a division below their natural weight.

I type this with a signed photo of Emile above my head but I have to say for similar reasons as say George Chuvalo vs Roberto Duran at some point the bigger guy will realise he can’t be hurt so he’ll just punch through all the tricks, thats my nothing opinion.
Ridiculous as Emile might make Foster look for a little bit because he was the best of the 60s IMO Foster will just smash him whether he takes something to do it, grabs him or just simply overpowers him.
I think Emile is a very overlooked puncher at 147lbs but his style makes it pretty hard to gain any respect from Foster and make him think. I agree on your point though about these just being fantasy discussions and I hope my tone didn’t come off as “OH this fictional outcome is the only truth” lol.
in fairness to Monzon he was shot prior to the Griffith bout by his wife.

I won't use any fighters from Foster's era or before his era

    WW: Hearns
MW: Hearns, Nunn, Toney, Roy, Hopkins, Mccallum, Barkley (maybe a stretch)

Notice the size/dimensions of everyone I picked. All are either walk around weight huge or their frames match Bob's

Greb would be the only one I'd pick

Can I send in RJJ, assuming Foster will not have seen film of him? The shock factor of his speed and reflexes might allow him to win enough rounds to pull off a victory without being KO'd.

Other choice is Langford, with his proven record of fighting (and knocking out) much bigger guys.

Foster was frail compared to Bivol.
