To be honest though it is not his fault. Pacman just had the handspeed and Pacman is peaking. Mayweather Sr. was not going to be much help and he wouldn't hurt much either. I do not think he mattered much. If anything he was a distraction, but even there who knows.

    This is bull****.

Floyd Mayweather Sr already has a proven track record, he was just in a similar situation as Roach was the other week with Penalosa vs Lopez.

Trainers can only do so much, but when the opponent's corner have a better fighter than you do, it really isn't going to matter.

Think about it. Hatton couldn't take any of Manny's shots tonight, so even if he come in with the perfect strategy, he is still going to get hit at some point when your as dynamic as Manny is. He just couldn't take the power or speed.

Floyd failed, but Manny won the fight.

Nor did Hatton's gob. Both talked a good fight. But Mayweather should turn it down a bit. It makes for a good show, but it's embarrassing when the opposite happens, and in such a spectacular way like tonight.

At least Roach showed class at the press conference and didn't reply after Snr's pissy poetry. It gets real old.

The trainer can't step in there and take or throw punches.

With hindsight, it's clear that Hatton started cracking mentally this week. It started with the overly sober public appearances, looked clear as day during the ring walk, and made itself a fact with his inability to execute virtually anything he worked on in camp during the fight.

Because say whatever you want about Sr., he didn't teach Ricky to run in with his hands down like that.

Why should Mayweather take the blame when Hatton basically ignored everything he was shown and just bulldozed straight in as usual swinging wildly with his hands down, chin up and no head movement.

Mayweather Sr is showing signs of diminished capacity and poor judgement.

Ricky's head is a rock, similar to Jermain Taylor's. Nothing any trainer says will ever sink into their brains at this stage in their careers. With them there is no molding, it's take it or leave it. That being said, Mayweather Sr. is a clown suffering from delusions of grandeur as are most boxing trainers with high profiles. Shame on Hatton for abandoning his original trainer and running to Mayweather for asisstance after he took that first L and struggled after that.

Floyd is not to blame for this. Hatton reverted to his old self just as Roach predicted, nothing Floyd could have done about this. I wonder if he was doing the same thing in sparring?

Because he talked the talked, NOw he must walk the walk, im not saying Hatton isnt responsible, senior should get his share of humble pie too.

floyd senior should take most of the blame. as the greatest trainer of all time he should have at least been able to alter hattons style a little. hatton looked much the same to me as always.. wide punches chin high, tough kid with little boxing skills.
