    any stats yet?

it is defo a good way of rating them (the S-HWs) and then discussing them with elite classical HWs.

I should have fitted Douglas onto my list.

Witherspoon, I don't realy think of as one of the type.

Larry Holmes weighed in excess of 225 from Tyson onwards and was also tall enough for the definition in this thread.

Post 87 Holmes, although far from his best, would still be in with a very good chance of cracking the top 10.

It should be anyone above 6"4 and over 230lbs. Otherwise your gonna have shitloads of heavies in there who were 6"3.

Tim Witherspoon is under 6'3" and his extra weight was blubber. I don't think he makes the cut here.

Great start we've got 24 S-HWs, rate them as you see fit...

after the 7 I've numbered, I can't rightfully say - listing fighters is never precise anyway, but a good measure all the same.

    1) Lewis
    2) Holmes
    3) Foreman
    4) Bowe
    5) Vitali
    6) Tucker
    7) Ernie Terrell

    Wlad
    Douglas
    Golota

    Carnera
    Godfrey
    Willard
    Fred Fulton
    George Godfrey

    Bill Tate
    Jameel McCline
    Lou Savaresse
    Michael Grant
    Tim Witherspoon

    James Smith
    Nicolay Valuev
    Larry Donald

I think the criteria should be over 6'3'' and never less than 225lb.

witherspoon was not a super heavyweight any more than larry Holmes was. Terrell was a thin superheavyweight, he just trained like a fighter from his era and weighed less but was every bit as big as bowe who started as low as 218lb himself!
