Danny Jacobs getting $15 million for a unification is what made every fighter with a belt afterwards aim at least for that.

    He is smart not dumb.
Fight vs Plant even for M16$ is cheapest :nononoand fastest:nonono:) road for Canelo to be Undisputed. Everyone does knows this.
All other roads will be more expensive and with real risk not to be an undisputed in 2022 th too.

Why? If he moves up to 175 lbs, he should beat 3 boxers to get 4 most well known boxing orgs belts.
This means that this will cost more than even 16m to book all 3 fights and this will cost TIME! Risk/ reward too is higher.
If he moves down to 160 lbs, it is big question, is he able to make 160 lbs and again, there he should do more than 1 fight to be undisputed.

Long story in short tale: even with 16m purse for Plant it will be CHEAPEST and FASTEST possible road for Canelo to be an undisputed.
He should get just 1 belt ( Plant's belt ) to be Undisputed at 168 lbs.
Time and total expenses too does matters. Canelo does knows this, Plant too.
Promoters does knows that Canelo vs Plant with proper ad campaign will be sold well.

Plant can demand as much as he wants, He has the last belt and if Canelo wants to be undisputed than give him the money.

    Yeah.
What here is situation at 175 lbs?
WBA Super champion is Bivol. Eddie looks that does have aim to get Bivol vs Buatsi fight for Bivol's title.
If Buatsi will not be destroyed by Bolotniks in 1-2 maybe even 3 fights in row, if upset will happen , then most likely they will feed Bolotniks to Beterbiev to fight with.
WBC and IBF champ is Beterbiev and he, yeah, is old now ( please do not pretend otherwise ) and still he does not box for judges cards and punch body pretty well, yeah, predictable and still, body punches was stuff that changed course in his fight vs Gvozdyk. Iron chin might not help and judges cards too. Stacking too might not help at all if he is not enough old out of shape or on short camp. Pro boxing is JUST business.
WBO champ is Joe Smith Jr. :D

SMW: only win vs Plant remains to be an undisputed : for Canelo.

MW: Murata, when Canelo will start to negotiate, maybe Plant's demands will look low.
GGG: he does knows that he is old now and never will win vs Canelo on judges cards. I suspect $ demands might be higher than from Plant, why not to cash out big cash cow who is intended to win by boxing business anyway? LOL.
    Charlo and Andrade, good luck._________

Everyone with brains does knows that Canelo does cherry pick after his fight vs 36 y.o Floyd Jr and is using everything in his behalf as big cash cow in his own backyard.
Easiest road : fight vs Plant.
At least at 168 looks that he does not cherry pick anymore.

Doesn´t quite work like that. Plant could easily overprice himself.
But that's how negotiations go. You try your best to get the biggest deal possible.

15mil would be like 20x what Plant made in his last fight.
I think he will walk away with 5+mil. The gate alone will be huge and DAZN want this fight.

He will not be smart if will agree to fight vs Canelo for 5 mil.
Plant is able to win only if he will KO Canelo out cold and even then there maybe clauses will appear.
If Plant will not have belt, not likely someone will pay him 1m or more anymore and he should have brains to know this.
There huge bunch with undefeated dreamers and Plant without belt will not be enough actual anyomore. gatekeeper etc ofc he in this role might be had used further.
Maybe like Tabiti after fight vs Dorticos.

Plant made 750k in his last fight.
5 mill would be an amazing deal. If he can negotiate more, then good for him.
But him sticking to the rumored 15 million is not smart. He isn´t a big name.

Well, you are working with flowchart like employers are using when they are in negotiation process about salary. You most likely should know this process, if you had 70 k p.a in your previous job, not likely they will offer you 140k in next job regardless how good you are and how high demand for you is in this job.

Prizefighting is about status to sell entertainment :nonono:nonono:nonono:nonono:nononoto casual;);););) customers, in pro boxing there ofc belts, status undisputed etc does matters damn a lot to advertise sales.
    It is not career job.

If Canelo will not get Plant fight, most likely he will not be and Undisputed nor in 160 lbs, nor 168 lbs nor 175 lbs division nor in 2021 nor 2022th, maybe in 2023 th.

I actually better had saw that all these belts had been sold in auction: who bids more, gets this.:D

And claims how much one had get from his previous fight are just simple manipulation tool.
In prizefighting all depends who more needs for this fight etc.
Normal, unbelievable for majority of career pro boxers in US purse had get former MMA lad who before this was a wrestler.
Also mma lad vs out of retirement famous boxer, etc like things.
No one asked: how you get in your last pro boxing fight cos this was their debut fight.

I actually do not mind if they will be allowed even to sell pro boxing belts in auctions, this will not matter any bare thing.

If he price home self out it will be a dumb move. It doesn’t matter what Canelo’s plan is. Plant should be worried about his plan. As you have listed Canelo has tons of options.

He isn’t a well known fighter. If he passes up the fight because he think he deserve more it will be one of the dumbest career move.

I don't think that he might price himself out: even for 15m opportunity to become an undisputed is more worth it rather than move to 175 lbs or trim down to 160 lbs and seek x number of boxers while dreaming that these does not know reality: pro boxing is show business not so much about sport, let's forget this nonsese and any attempts to call stuff like pro boxing as purely competitive sport, It is not and never WAS and never WILL be. NEVER.

    LOL.

Pro boxing is entertainment business nothing more and all belts too ARE entertainers belts.

Canelo might taste because his main fanbase is most likely with very rude, simple and low skilled delusional fans nothing more there.
To ensure boxing hardcore fans he should be an Undisputeted at least in 1 division.

Pro boxing is entertainment business to sell wievership and if someone represent this as h2h abilities for their idol sorry here already.
For example I can't imagine how supposed Spong might beat Usyk under boxing rules and how Usyk vs Spong might be able to walk more than 2 rounds etc like stuff if they had to fight under K-1 rules.

If the Plant fight cannot be made, I would like to see Canelo defend his 168-lb titles vs an up and coming challenger, rather than moving up to 175 to fight old man Beterbiev. If he wins, he won't get much credit because people will say Beterbiev was just an old overrated man who was past his prime. Not only that, but Canelo would have to bulk up to make that fight and his best weight is 168 lbs. He doesn't have anything to prove at 175. Now knowing Canelo and his desire to dare to be great he'll probably move up to 175 and take on the biggest baddest challenge out there, and he'll probably fight Beterbiev or maybe Bivol. But I think it would be better to take on an up and coming challenger at 168, defend his titles vs a young hungry lion, maybe a guy off the radar who no one's talking about just to give a young fighter a chance to take on the SMW King.

Plant is an OK boxer, but nothing too special. Canelo will tear him apart. Might be fun while the beatdown lasts I guess.

He should get GGG3 out of the way while Golovkin still has teeth and remembers his name.

Been there, done that. GGG is too old and his fans don't deserve another shot after all their crying. A much younger and closer to prime GGG had two chances to beat Canelo, he failed both times. Then after he lost, he walked out of the ring without congratulating Canelo, giving an interview, or demanding a rematch. GGG doesn't deserve a chance at redemption. But if he got another opportunity now he'll be given a much worse beating than the beating he suffered in the rematch, so I don't know why you keep pushing for Canelo to fight him. Desperate for redemption? But is it worth it to see GGG beaten again and this time much worse? I don't think you really want to see that.
