I guess fast-tracking Adrian Hernandez to a world title was higher up on the agenda? :conf Gonzalez would savage him. I wish Gonzalez would carry his speed and power up to Flyweight. I actually think he has the perfect style to beat Moruti Mthalane (not that I'd like Mthalane to get beat, just would be interesting seeing Roman break him down). It's a pity he'd be undersized at the weight.
I'll make an outlandish guess and say that I'm Ponce's biggest fan around here, and even I can say he hasn't a hope, I'm just hoping he lasts longer than 6. He's made a great, great improvement, and despite what some people(Flea:fire) say he's very good, but he's just too slow and pedestrian for Gamboa. The show was LIITR weren't it? I used to write for their website, good guys, but I think Ponce listens to the show, which is why they're talking him up a bit.
Gonzalez hasn't even brought his power up to light-fly, never mind flyweight, it's out of the question. I think he's ripe for an upset at light-fly if I'm honest, one of my favourite fighters, but I'm not just not confident in him at light-fly for whatever reason.
I think I had it 97-94, I can't see a way to score it for Broner, which isn't a good omen for him considering how undersized Ponce was. I think Ponce's chin is underrated off the back of the Juanma fight, I don't think Gamboa will like vapourize him with one shot or anything, I just think he'll be significantly overwhelmed. Yeah they do a bit. Good guys though, and they do know what they're talking about for the most part, Montoya's pretty good for finding out stuff you wouldn't have otherwise known, and Duenez, well he gave me a job so he's alright in my books(he does have that partiality to Mexicans also, probably another reason for the Ponce love).
I'm fairly (And somewhat pleasently) surprised: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxacops4mSc[/ame] Naasssty KO.
It doesn't make you a gayer. :sad2 I'll update it at some point later today by the way dudes, what with the Martinez pull-out and all that.
Great thread! Promised to take the missus to a Beverley Night (sp?) concert on Saturday. Fail. Will be taping the Sky shows though and then hopefully settling down to watch some action from over the other side of the pond in the early hours. Gamboa v De Leon is the pick of the bunch for me though. Think Gamboa has the winning of him, but could be a really good fight. I'd pick YG about round five but it should be quality while it lasts.
