I'm puzzled about something. They say Chavez junior isn't ready for Pavlik at 160, but he is ready for Cotto at 154. How the **** does that work?

Team Pavlik appears to be in chaos. Kelly is dehydrated and weight drained at 160. KP is coming off a loss.

Cotto and Steward appear to have gelled nicely. Miguel is coming off a nice win. On a p4p basis Cotto is a better fighter than KP.

What the hell is the logic behind the line of thinking that says Junior is ready for Cotto, but not Pavlik?

The glaring difference is that nobody has stopped Pavlik, or come close.

Knockout losses create an aura of vulnerability, regardless of the circumstances around them...or to whom they are suffered.

Pavlik is dangerous even when he's having an off night or getting outboxed. Cotto is smaller and has been stopped twice and never quite regained his former ferocity & confidence from being undefeated. I can see why they'd consider him the lesser challenge right now - even though your logic above is sound.

Wolak is nowhere close to as challenging as either; this will look almost exactly like the Duddy fight.

I suppose this makes sense. Either opponent is a bad idea. Junior is only 24 years old, and in terms of actual boxing experience he is just a baby. I see nothing wrong with putting him in with old McKart, Andy Kolle, Billy Lyell, et. I don't know what the hurry is with this kid.
