Gotta earn a living somehow. Seriously, these tournaments are kind of fun. I wish they'd have more of them. I was really looking forward to that superfighter tournament that fell through a few years back.

I think the concept that Don House has put together here with his House of Extreme Boxing Inc.. is very good , it endorses exciting heavyweight action every second of every fight..

For anyone who hasn't a clue as to what i am talking about..

This card is a tournament where , every round of every fight is worth big money.. so even if you lose your first 5 round fight, but win 2 rounds of it you will be paid for each winning round along the way, ($1000) so in effect if you win all of your fights including the final, you could walk away with in the region of $700 000 dollars .. So lazy fighters that dont try, simply dont win cash.. Its a money incentive tournament where busy , go getting heavyweights can make good money..........

When i was in Germany with Friday Ahunanya to fight Povetkin , the Povetkin team didn't like the idea of boxing Friday over 8 like we said at first, so they cut it to 6 without our blessing.. On the fight night when we were onlt a half hour to fight time we said if we weren't accomodated properly here we would pull out (HBO had us lined up as co main attraction for TV Live) so they got all panicky and tried to sweeten us up, they were offering us money and the chance of returning to Germany on the next Klitschko card as a co main attraction again if we agreed to the ****... also we were told that we were being considered as opposition for unbeaten Shane Cameron in NZ , plus if we boxed Povetin and didn't pull out , we would "Be put in the superfighter tournament with.. Peter, Jameel, Shannon etc...." That didn't happen...

The mans name was Mr Don Majeski........ he was a rightious ******* and i told him to "**** Off" and get us some more money.. The purse was slightly raised but we never got any of the promised perks..

Incidentally we did negotiate a fight with Cameron 2 years later in NZ , and we gave him his 1st loss as a pro elivating Friday to a bigger fight on ESPN2 against Alonzo Butler in Vegas which once again as underdog, we won.. dropping Butler in the process.........

So it IS that tournament thing then...didn't know about the cash details though. Michael Grant was talking about it a couple months back as a possibility, but he's decided to carry on by himself instead for a Nov 16th TBA fight.

    Yes it is a tournament...

Fighters get paid well for each round of boxing they win, It makes them all try harder not just to cruise through fights, but to win every round they box..
