September 8th: which card will you choose?

These will all likely conflict.

Vitali Klitschko vs. Manuel Charr, 12 rounds @ heavyweight for the WBC title (tape delayed from earlier in the day)
Antonio DeMarco vs. John Molina, 12 rounds @ lightweight for the WBC title
Andre Ward vs. Chad Dawson, 12 rounds @ super middleweight for the WBC & WBA titles

AFAIK, Bowie Tupou vs. Malik Scott will not be televised by HBO.

Showtime:
Ishe Smith vs. TBA, 10 rounds @ light middleweight (on Sho Extreme)
Peter Quillin vs. TBA, 10 rounds @ middleweight (on Sho Extreme)
Lucas Martin Matthysse vs. Ajose Olusegun, 12 rounds @ light welterweight for the WBC title
Devon Alexander vs. Randall Bailey, 12 rounds @ welterweight for the IBF title

Wealth TV PPV:
Steve Cunningham vs. Jason Gavern, 10 rounds @ heavyweight
Bryant Jennings vs. Chris Koval, 10 rounds @ heavyweight

I think for me it's going to be:

Klitschko vs. Charr in the afternoon on a Euro feed.

Ishe Smith and Kid Chocolate on Sho Extreme early in the evening before the main cards are underway (and if they spill a bit over into the HBO card, it'll only be the Klitschko vs. Charr replay which won't affect me)

HBO live.

Showtime main card on DVR.



Don't really care at all about the heavyweights card. :yep Like, not even remotely interested. Like, if there was no other boxing on that night I still wouldn't go to the trouble of trying to see it.

I'd make plans and go out on a Saturday night for once.

 

I am slightly bummed about having to forgo the Showtime main card live, and if it were the only big card that night would be moderately excited for it.

Alexander vs. Bailey might not be too fun in the lead-up, but ultimately it'll be one of those "who lands the KO punch" spins of the roulette wheel (I'd say 80-20 in favor of it being Alexander)

Matthysse vs. Olusegun is actually a very interesting styles clash. It's a big step up for Ajose and Lucas is in beast mode lately, but this will be one of his trickiest assignments to date with a package of solid chin and skills that he's not yet been presented with.


Of course, DeMarco vs. Molina should be a crude smash-up for the ages while Ward vs. Dawson at the other end of the spectrum is a technical purist's wet dream.

If it was Matthysse vs. Olusegun head to head against DeMarco vs. Molina, it wouldn't be all that cut and dry.

Waiting for the Poles and those weirdo "boxing fans" who only follow the HW division to flood in and make this lopsided in favor of Wealth TV..
