Yeah - corner stoppage. The bloodthirsty part of me might have wanted to see a more decisive finish, but Mendoza was just getting beat up in there - no real point in continuing.

CW for sure. He probably dominates that division for a while, too.

Damn comfortable. That counter uppercut in the 4th, in particular, was friggin' beautiful.

I still can't believe Mendoza is taking fights at 200+... checked boxrec and dude came in at 215 against Ortiz.. disgraceful.

Ah. Well as it happens I don't speak either.

English is my first language, and I am semi-fluent in all the Mediterranean romance languages as well as Czech...but all that stuff from the east Slavic group is Greek to me. :!:

May as well be Swahili for all I understand it.

Huck lost to two southpaws in Lebedev and Arslan and when he makes his caveman attacks its always in straight lines. Usyk being 2 inches taller, southpaw with his footwork, angles, speed and athleticism should be able to negate his offense without too much trouble while mangling his face with those combinations.

If they can secure an opponent this level i would like to see him in against a fringe or past it contender like Fragomeni, Flores, Cleverly , Licina next.

I would not rush Usyk into a title fight just yet. All the champs at cruiser are damn good fighters. Early 2015 might be workable.

    Let's take it easy guys.

Usyk was taking punches from Mendoza.

Huck would hit Usyk harder than he's ever been hit. Hook don't win his fights with his skills.

He's relentless, and he'll take 5 to land one, but his one will likely be more than Usyk has proven to be able to take in his entire career. Not saying Usyk is packing glass, but if it's the slighest bit imperfect, Huck will crack it.

we're talking about the #1 CW atm. And a guy who has beaten every CW he's fought since 07, and that guy is a top 30 HW long past prime.

Huck might be a caveman, but he wins. And even though he don't dominate any of the guys he beats, he still keeps it close enough for the judges to see it his way.

That's the thing about Huck... I get the knocks against his skills, but he's not an easy guy to beat because of that toughness and his activity level against good competition really is impressive. The phrase "he'll fight anyone" may get overused at times, but it fits Marco to a T.

I love Usyk- he's got to be one of the best prospects to in the sport right now- and I think he's got P4P ability, but I can't completely brush off Huck at this stage of the game. I'd favor Usyk, but Marco's a great test for him. If he looks good and takes Huck apart, that's making a massive statement.

He lost to USS, Lebedev and Arslan and has lots of bum of the moth opponents spattered through his title reign. Afolabi is one of the only quality guys he's beaten during it.Usyk fought at SHW in WSB and has taken punches from hard hitting 250lbers.....

Never even tried to unify against anyone and ran from rematching Lebedev. Minto, Nakash, Ramirez, Godfrey are the best guys he's fought aside from Afolabi and the two he's lost to. His competition isn't anything too great.Huck deserves credit but some people give him too much.

Yeah, Flores would be a perfect 5th, maybe 6th pro fight.

But would BJ fight for the kindof dough team Usyk could come up with???? And would Usyk fight for the kindof dough KD would propose?

Which one would get the short stack???? The proven world level professional, Or the undeniably dominant prospect? :think
