Kharitonov is a tuff *******...One wonders what the hell he was doing in a K1 competition in the first place...he shouldjust stick to MMA. lol he was at times trying to grab the guy's legs for the takedown...haha mma reflexes

In the words of Cecil People's "leg kicks don't win fights.":nut

Sergei had on Sityotong shorts on; I assume that means he trained there, the original one in Thailand, not the Dellagrote one in Mass. If he did train there, he should have been a little better with checking those nasty leg kicks.

Of course Ghita is an extremely talented fighter with a lot of potential who is solely a striker, so I don't mean to make it sound that it came down to Sergei losing rather than Ghita winning. Hopefully Sergei training for this will improve his striking for MMA, he did look quicker and had a noticeable improvement in speed and general boxing skill.

Also hopefully Ghita goes on to inject some new blood into K1, it certainly needs it and he is certainly talented.

Any one have any good background on Ghita?

Ghita looks a classy fighter. Really impressed with him. Those leg kicks were vicious.

Notice how many stoppages Ghita has by low kick on the link given. His low kicks are brutal and I think he has a bright future. Ghita was eliminated from the K-1 tournament final 16 by Schilt and he went the distance. None of Schilts opponents in the K-1 finals made it out of the 1st round.

Ghita is another fighter from Romania. He has the right size, good power, heavy kicks and pretty heavy hands as well. He's also very dedicated to training and for his bout with Schilt he trained in ... Holland.
Quite some good fighters come from Romania these days such as Morosanu and Catinas.
Golden Glory also has a gym there.
