Just watched Kobozev's fight against Marcelo Dominguez for the cruiserweight interim title. What a war it was - the two guys were warriors for all twelve rounds. Kobozev had a very promissing career and was a really exciting fighter that could have made it big and never got the chance to cash in. Shame he had such a tragic death, being murdered by Russian gangsters at the age of 31. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ifcd1SDrFaQ&feature=related[/ame]
I thought he was going to go all the way, he was a tough guy...shame they killed him for a stupid thing...waste of life
Yep. He would have held a cruiserweight title at some stage for sure, maybe even could have done beter than that. Him and Artemiev laid the path for eastern block fighters to go pro in the US, and both ended tragically.
