    ESPN just reported.

Max Kellerman and Stephen A. Smith are on camera and excited!

I know Max still does work with ESPN (just not anything boxing related). I wonder if he'll start covering boxing for ESPN again if HBO decides to drop the sport. Sounds like Canelo is considering bolting HBO after the fight this weekend.

Id rather Kovalev-Mike Lee or some prospect/contender to build Krusher back up. He's gonna get wrecked Alvarez will land bombs

I got faith in Krusher! He was ahead in the fight. What bothers me is, Alvarez was trying to land that right for several rounds before he connected. Kov and his team made no adjustments for it. EA came close to landing it 3-4 times prior to the bomb.

Alvarez needs to make it to the 6th round and then drain what's left out of Kovalev.

Kovalev lost a lot of steam going into round 7, he was landing "get of me punches" with no power and Alvarez was just jabbing to get a clean overhand right off. I know most people think Kovalev won all 6 rounds and looked just as great as he did in his prime. I just didn't see it that way. Kovalev only outlanded Alvarez in 3 rounds, and I know that's not what wins you fights, but in those other 3 rounds Alvarez landed the more clean punches. round 3 the punch count was close so I can see why someone had it 4-2 Kovalev. As Roy said Kovalevs timming was off. and it was. there was a lot Kovalev was doing wrong. If Kovalev feels he has to make no adjustments then once it gets to the second half he is less likely to get a knockout.

Also a few people who love Kovalev here love his distance he never really found his distance in this fight. Round 4 was a great round however and if he can have 2 like that in this fight then it can change. Alvarez should be the betting favourite, but I have a feeling Kovalev will be a -350.

there's a really good article by a Kovalev fan here who basically said he isn't the Monster he once was.

Eleider Alvarez v Sergey Kovalev II is reportedly likely to be shown by ESPN. The fight is being targeted for a January date in Quebec, Canada. [According to @RingMagazine]

we'll it's going to Quebec, which they had a prospect fight a year ago and sold 6000 tickets for a better gate than Kovalev vs Alvarez 1. great money making for all 3 promoters involved.

I think Kovalev acknowledges he's on the decline and learns from the mistakes he made in the first bout, comes back with the right game plan to defeat Alvarez and then goes on to secure a couple more wins, finishing his career on a relatively high note (subject to him staying off the bottle, remaining motivated and adapting his craft were necassary.)

I suspect Alvarez will repeat his performance and take Kovalev out mid-late-rounds once again.

The world around is that Alvarez might be done as a PBC fighter and working out an agreement to bring ESPN to Quebec 2-3 times a year. we will see if there is truth to this.

Kovalev may be clean now, but years of neglecting himself out of the ring can't just be undone. He was never going to age as well as someone who lived and breathed the sport 24/7. And at his age?I'm not surprised he's hit the wall. It's a small miracle he's made it this far as well as he has.
