Yes! Canelo ended his program with VADA and signed up for VADA testing almost immediately after specificallyfpr this fight. So you can say Canelo has literally been under VADA testing for over a year consecutively before this fight took place.
Of course you were. I wouldn't have a deck stacking drugs cheat with a number of highly disputed decisions as fighter of the decade but I have a sense of integrity.
I actually scored this one, partly because I have been dubious of some scoring in the past relating to Canelo - namely GGG vs Alvarez #1. Before sharing this scoring I'd be accused of being a GGG fanboi, but I like to think I just call it as I see it. Disclaimer, especially as some of these rounds were diabolical to score I wasn't just "counting shots", or looking for power shots - I essentially look for effective aggression, ring generalship, meaningful shots etc. There were times Kovalev won rounds with the jab, mainly because Canelo did so little... there were times where between what Canelo and Kovalev were doing it ended up that Kovalev would throw heaps of jabs and they'd connect, but mostly with gloves or very very lightly on Canelo while Canelo would throw 1/4 of the shots but land much more of them, control the pace and range and generally making it look like he was a danger to Kovalev, and Kovalev look like he felt like he felt like he was in danger. Real interesting ebbs and flows through the fight, quite tactical and not easy for either dude - they did a lot to neutralise the other's strong points but Canelo obviously had the tools and the discipline to do what he planned in the end. I digress, my scoring: 1: Kova 10-9 Canelo 2: Kova 9-10 Canelo 3: Kova 10-9 Canelo 4: Kova 9-10 Canelo 5: Kova 10-9 Canelo 6: Kova 9-10 Canelo 7: Kova 9-10 Canelo 8: Kova 10-9 Canelo 9: Kova 10-9 Canelo 10: Kova 9-10 Canelo 11: Canelo Win by KO 95-95 going into Round 11
