Right, a 34 year old gasses himself out against a 42 year old in 6 rounds.

    People age different in boxing.
That s why Bernard Hopkins and Archie Moore were effective in their 40s while guys like Fernando Vargas and Wilfred Benitez were done in their 20s.
I thought too aswell that the setting and context of the foght could lead to some brown envelopes passed but the truth is Mann took too severe a shellacking for that.
That cut wasnt scripted you know?

I'm not saying it's scripted. But it was interesting that Mann didn't throw anything in last 3 rounds and his shots in early rounds were soft.

Boxing News article agrees with me:

"‘The Krusher’ looked visibly tired from the energy he’d expended in the second round. Still, Mann couldn’t take advantage of his fatigue due to his low punch output. He was constantly coming forward but not throwing, and allowing Kovalev to land jabs and power punches at will. Mann had the power, but he wasn’t letting his shots go.

    Early on Kov was strong.
Then as he fatigued Mann came on a little
As Lov got his second wind he came out on top.
