I was watching the same fight as you, only difference is, I tend to easily separate my love or hatred of a fighter when scoring their fights fairly easily. Ladies like you are unable to do that.

I had the fight a draw after round 10.

Fair enough. I don't necessarily agree, but I respect your point of view.

The truth is, the first 8 or so rounds of the fight were not particularly noteworthy. Nothing "big" happened. In such circumstances, IMO, it's easy to give the rounds to the busier guy. That's what I did. Even though, as I said above, I tend to favor the come-forward fighter.

For me, to win rounds as the lower-volume fighter, you need to land big punches. Canelo wasn't doing that, or wasn't doing it enough.

I'm glad things ended as they did, or else the fallout from a decision could have been really, really bad. Glad we avoided that.

What do you do with an individual of such limited intellect that he really imagines that a rehydration limit is not weight draining? I mean, I know Scar has trouble following events at the best of times, but the real question is: is he really this thick or is he being deliberately disingenuous in order to protect his crush Canelo?

Well done Scar, have a cookie, and keep on polishing that Guadalajara ice cream cone :eaea:

Wasn't Lara in his prime? Of course, Lara beat him. But there aren't really that many prime A listers in any division. Maybe, he could fight Bivol. You have Julian Williams at junior middle who may have what it takes if Canelo wants to return to that weight, Callum Smith at super middle, and Bivol at light-heavyweight. He couldn't defeat a past prime Golovkin, but he beat Jacobs who's the next best at middleweight. Most of the talent is in the lower weight classes.

It shouldn't matter in my opinion, the scorecards still were what they were, there should still be an outcry. Because the fix was in. Just because someone doesn't get a chance to rob someone, it didn't mean the intent wasn't there.

Yep, I thought that Canelo would be faster than he was. Instead he got given a boxing lesson by an old faded, weight drained guy coming off a brutal fight.

Says the moron that claims Kovalev was drained even though he fought at the max weight limit of the division he holds a title in. Oh and Jacobs was drained too for weighing in at the Middleweight limit of 160.

The mental illness is Golovkin fan level here.

canelo is multidimensional, he would not be fighting him the same way, because the beve would not be fighting him like kova did. he is a tougher challenge. ive questioned kovalevs heart leading up to the fight, and he fought like i was right, i dont have questions about arthurs heart. but he does have holes, so canelo would be playing matador instead of bull... and hes got the skill to do it.

Kovalev never gets the break with the judges. That much is clear. He clearly does not sell and that’s probably why I’m fights to me where he should clearly be up he never is.

He could have started with GGG in his prime, but he vacated the belt. I've been on here for years banging that drum. People just forget about it. But hold on, so he just blatantly ducked Golovkin and waited for him to get older, but now nobody cares?

    Very fair point.

The saddest thing of all this is that I really do not dislike Canelo at all (although I don't like the PED thing). But he has become easy to dislike, IMO, because of all of this 'other' stuff that goes on around him. Including the judges.

It's a shame. I get it, and he's not the first person with a manufactured aura, but it's still truly annoying. The judging for him is some of the worst stuff I have ever seen for any fighter over a career. At some point, reality has to take over and fairness needs to be in play.

All that said, I do respect Canelo. He's come a long way, and achieved some excellent things. Even though I thought he lost both GGG fights, I give Canelo HUGE credit for how he fought the second fight. Yes, GGG had declined a ton by that time but it still took real guts to fight that style against GGG.
