Not sure what you guys were watching to not acknowledge every time Kovalev did anything other than jab, Canelo lunged with a hard counter waiting for said opportunities. Why did he only jab? To avoid what he got hit with in the 11th.

Agreed. Those first forty fights are the equivalent of a short shitty amateur career. They didn't turn him into a mature fighter.

Haters can say whatever they want. Canelo is number one p4p now. Great performance by Canelo!

That was a terrible strategy for Kovalev because he didn't use his biggest asset. He could have knocked Canelo out in one to four rounds maybe if he'd actually sat down on his punches. Sure, little guys are faster, but you know what keeps their hands home? Getting knocked silly around the ring and manhandled with bone crushing punches.

Agreed. Respect to Canelo, unless it was a dive.

Right, Canelo couldn't go too hard early as Kov was too big. And Kov couldn't go too hard early because Canelo was too small. Perfect strategies from all concerned.

He still needed more punching variety to be less predictable. Also, I got he was fighting tall and keeping Canelo at the end of his jab for most of the fight, so why did he start leaning forward crouching and giving away his height advantage the last two rounds?
