I...**** actually if Kovalev gets past Ward and then Beterbiev he probably will retire without a loss.

On second thought it is too early to tell. Depends on how long he decides to fight. I don't see his record getting into the mid 40s without a loss.

But Kovalev already technically has a draw, whereas Calzaghe has no such blemish on his official record.

    Advantage Calzaghe.

But going beyond official records (which is outside the scope of the original post), I think Kovalev may have less instances of "controversial or somewhat controversial" victories on his ledger than Joe does. But that's a debatable stance on its face.

    I agree 100%.

But it is, officially, a blemish on his record.

Yeah I agree to that extent, but Kova still has 16 more fights to reach 46-0 and Ward is better than any opponent on Calzaghes entire resume, so if he loses he's still accomplished something more than Calzaghe by fighter the tougher opposition imo. If he beats Ward, I'd rank him higher than Calzaghe P4P..

Calzaghe would have UD KKKovalev easily.

Naw, that was a referee phuck-up, every bit as egregious as Martinez-Citron or Lomachenko-Salido.

The correct decision there was a TKO.
