Sergey Kovalev - Guillermo Jones sparring

Why does Guillermo Jones rarely fight?

 

Awesome!

The Cat looks to be over 200lbs there, and he's very apprehensive regarding Kovalev's power - even with headgear.

I like how Kov is able to slip the southpaw jab and keep spamming that right to the body every time he sees an opening.

Do you know how long ago this was? (ie during Kovalev's prep for Campillo, or Jones' for Lebedev last year)

Jones is a old fat ex 154lbs fighter but he is pretty good and it's a shame how he's wasting whatever's left of his career

 

Yes, very early on (welterweight actually, if you want to really nitpick)...and not worth bringing up as he's spent over a decade and more than half of his career at cruiserweight.

At 6'4" and with his frame he was never staying for long down at the lower weights.

 

kovalev is a beast, but nice left from jones on the beginning

Yeah that's obvious but he should have never gotten as high as CW I'm sure he could have stayed at SMW or at least LHW if he doesn't want to spent so much energy on making weight I mean just look at him he's just fat. And that's what's so frustrating about him he is old fat and just doesn't seem to care but he is so talented that he is still a top CW imagine how good he could have been if he stayed in shape and fought regularly but now it's too late for that. i just hate people who waste their potential
