nice highlight, i dont see natural power, what i see is punches in bunches, great balance, and almost perfect weight transfer, which is where he is getting his power from, and ko guys with the punches in bunches
Stevenson refused to fight Kovalev, that says something. Hopkins refused to fight Kovalev when Kovalev was his mandatory. If not for the lawsuit and Stevenson pricing himself out of the fight, Hopkins would not have signed to fight Kovalev, but Hopkins is getting 2 thirds of the money for that fight. A huge retirement payday, then Hopkins will work as a promoter................Claverly was a world champion, Campillo was a former world champion. Kovalev works very hard in the gym, has Jackson and Don Turner has his trainers, Jackson has trained Hopkins in the past.............Kovalev will fight Stevenson if Stevenson ever gets the nerve, Ward refuses to fight him, even at 168....................
Kovalev is going to demolish Hopkins. On paper, it's a good fight, but when Kovalev starts attacking, Hopkins won't be able to handle the onslaught. This is not Murat, or Shumenov. This is a guy who's been knocking out top 10 fighters at 175 with ease. Kovalev is too good to get outboxed by an old man. He's got way more dimensions than the one-dimensional Pavlik.
He demolished the guy that outboxed all 3 of B-Hop's latest opponents, but got robbed afterwards... now let that sink in for a while.
That Campillo was already better as all of B-Hop's wins since his victory over Pascal back in 2011. So the question "Who has he fought that we can use to gauge how he'll do against a fighter of Hopkins' caliber?" can be answered that way. Campillo didn't do much worse against those opponents as Hopkins himself, and he didn't have a snowball's chance in hell against Kovalev. Wich makes you almost reverse the question if there weren't other factors in play.
Pretty dope video indeed... He's a dominant offensive fighter. Legit #3 in the division in my opinion behind only Adonis and Hopkins. Clearly ahead of everyone else at LHW, which to me isn't looking that great beyond the big three. Fighting Hopkins to unify 3 belts is huge and would be a great achievement relevant to his current resume. I will be picking Kovalev to defeat Hopkins. Top wins: Cleverly, Campillo, Sillahk, Agnew, Caparello, White, Boone X2
That's not fair. Cleverly was an undefeated WBO champion. Agnew was undefeated. Capparello was undefeated. Sillakh was highly-regarded. Campillo was a former world champion. Simakov was undefeated.
The guy just throws so much into his punches! He beats the crap out of everyone he faces. I'd be interested to see what happens when someone hits him back who can really bang!!!
And yet if his skin was a slightly different color and was american you would be singing his praises to the wind...:deal
