There is zero doubt in my mind. Barrera got to Ward and the dude stood like a statue for 12 rounds. Barrera has zero head movement, too. Ward's face showed more facial damage than Barrera's. Kovalev murks Ward. It's pretty much written in stone.

No such thing as a lucky shot at this level.

Ward gets blown out in four rounds by Kovalev. He looked like he aged about ten years since he fought rodriguez and dawson.

I wouldn't mind Ward fighting someone like Yordanis Despagine next. There are a couple quality LHW's he can get in there with and sharpen up some more....physically just as much as skillfully.

Then let's see him get iced by Kovalev.

Kovalev is an extremely intelligent fighter and is a master of range. He has a very long jab and one is that is very powerful. Ward's only shot is to tie up as often as he can and do some work on the inside, but he will PAY for coming in.

ward was getting hit with barreras jab when he would land his. as we all know kovalev can put people to sleep with his jab. I just cant see ward doing anything to beat kovalev.

Looked pretty good in basically his first fight back. Some of you guys said ward would have a tough fight against Barrera and look at what happened

Ward is much quicker than Kovalev and he's real hard to hit! It's a 50/50 fight

exactly that's the only way I can see ward beating him. but Hopkins tried following that same plan and got dropped on his ass in the first round. maybe if ward can incorporate his quick head movement and catch kovalev as hes trying to hit him. but kovalev is smart and will keep enough range to negate that.

A slow, sloppy Barrera landed 111 punches on Ward. What do you think will they guy do who schooled Hopkins and outboxed him for 12 rounds?

Kovalev is bigger, harder punching, slicker, more skilled than Barrera ever will be. Ward is in trouble, that's why he wants one fight more before facing him and thats why this fight probably never happens ..

Cool story. We'll see when the fight happens. And it will happen. Will you eat crow if Ward wins? Or make excuses and call him boring?

I like both fighters, and can make an argument for either man winning IMO. Whoever is able to impose their will, make it their style of fight, control distance, etc... will be the victor.

All these arguments about "power," "chin," and "brutal KOs" are made by people who don't understand what they are watching.

I don't know who is going to win. If anyone is honest, they would say the same thing. That's why we're all waiting for these two great boxers to get in the ring and get it on!
