Worst of all that Kovalev has ever done, he knocked out Cleverly with a 4 rabbit punch behind the head combo ( he never recovered from that). And hit Cleverly twice with huge shots when he was down. Where the hell was the Ref?

You clearly see @ 53 seconds Cleverly is hit behind the head and then twice when he is already kncoked down. Yes he really got away with that some how. :twisted:

Yes that is correct. He was making obscene gestures to the British fans after he Ko'd Cleverly.

That situation with Grover Young was ridiculous. Kovalev was screwed of another KO W on his record. He ought to be 28-0 (25), not 27-0-1 (24). His being upset is understandable, as was his confronting Young in the hotel lobby when Young seemed perfectly okay and was yukking it up enjoying his easy $4k paycheck after his lame acting job prevented an L on his record. Also, he says in that same interview that you've selectively quoted from that he isn't racist, but that in his time in the US has been largely unimpressed with the baser elements of African-American culture. He cites an instance during sparring where a frustrated black fighter pulled a gun on a white boxer that got the best of him, and says he typically encounters tantrums of that sort from some of the 'hood' acting guys in the gym, who often throw elbows when things don't go their way.

He also gives respect to Darnell Boone; when the interviewer asks if Cleverly was his toughest opponent to date or the hardest puncher, Kovalev goes out of his way to say no, it was Boone. He also, while he is annoyed that Hopkins was talking **** about him, goes out of his way to say that he reveres Hopkins as a "legend".
