I am a Russian native speaker. Believe me, it's pretty hard to translate what he says without euphemisms.
Sounds like a grouchy *******. Sergey KRUSHER kovalev's reputation has just sky rocketed in my view. No one wants to hear opinions from jumped up keyboards. Lol
Eh, no. "Talking pet" WTF is that? That's not the definition of either "bydlo" or "gopnik". Anyway, the vast majority of Russian boxing fans like Kovalev just fine. Some people don't like that kind of personality, but he exudes "attitude" and most people like that.
So what though? If you say something to Zab Judah on twitter like that he'll come at you, plenty others the same. They're human, they take offense, they owe keyboard warriors nothing. I wasn't getting at you, but rather the people who think it's a great surprise when it happens every day with other fighters on twitter. It was a reply to you, but for them to read.
I think Kovalev gets defensive about his chin because he probably doesn't have a great one The same way he gets defensive about Beterbiev because I believe he knows that Beterbiev will knock him out
Boxing discourse is about exchanging opinions. That's what we do here in boxingforum. Or are you not a keyboard hero yourself? If you don't want to hear opinions, you can just IGNORE them. That's what adult people do. But if you approve childish infantile behaviour, then you are a child yourself. I cannot blame you for that, I'm pretty cool with it.
It's what people who are experienced on the internet do. You see a lot of celebrities losing it online because they're not used to criticism and feel they have to fight their corner. After a while they realise you can't beat them all and it's a waste of time anyway. And now you've just insulted this guy you've replied to, because you didn't like his opinion. Hypocrisy.
So all the places Sergey acts the internet tough guy are all in Russian Thats too bad wait ..... Charlie Zelenoff is fluent in Russian :think:devil
There is nothing "controversial" or "egregious" in any of this. It's just light "sh!t-talking" with random dumbasses on the internet. The fact that Kovalev actually engages in conversations with fans online is what's really relevant here. Again, there is nothing in those posts that would lead most Russian boxing fans to hate him. If anything, it's the opposite.
Find it funny. I'd like to read some of Kovalevs rants like fury does. Hype is what makes boxing interesting. that and great fights. Definitely childish, I never thought myself as a highbrow character.
