Sergey Kovalev returns in november 25 in NY

I wouldn't mind Kovalev/Barrera.

 

With the same ref?

 

Nice padded seats to land on if Kov gets propelled through the ropes this time by another ref-approved a low blow.

 

Weeks is an excellent ref. Not sure what youre beef is. I know people arent too happy with how he called the kov/ward fight but he has been a good ref.

 

I guess it's my opinion that he ruined his reputation with that call.

 

According to Kovalev fans, lets just say that they claim that Sergey's goods were damaged repeatedly by Ward. In addition to all that nonsense, the fact is that Sergey was brutalized to the body and hurt in a way that he never was before. Not only was stopped, but various times in the bout he slumped over in pain from the body punches and was looking at Tony Weeks for a way out. After the first fight, he claimed that the judges robbed him, but after he got stopped, his aura of invincibility had trouble been destroyed. He may not be damaged goods, but given how Ward exposed him, the fact is that he's not looked at as the same fighter he was before he met Ward, who was an undefeated unstoppable force. Now opponents know he's soft to the body and will likely target the body. When someones body is brutalized like that, some would say he's damaged goods in boxing terms because now opponents know where to target him to hurt him.

 

He said that it is pointless and he doesn't want to on twitter since Kovalev doesn't have anything lol.

 

It would be fun while it lasted.

 

Why is calling a blatantly low blow a low blow nonsense? That last blow was directly on the lettering of the trunks way below the belly button. Since when is that NOT a low blow?

 

The claim was that Ward hit Kovalev low repeatedly and intentionally, suggesting that he was targetting Kovalev's nuts and that he was clearly showing himself to be a dirty fighter.

I never denied that the last punch was low, however it was the only punch that was low, the ones before that all landed on the belt-line which were legal. Furthermore, the fact that Kovalev was hunched over in a fetal position at that point made it damn near impossible for Ward to know where that punch would land. The angle that he would have had to land that punch on the body with Kovalev in that position is extremely sharp. There's a difference between a belt-line punch, a punch that lands just below the belt-line, and a nut-shot let alone an intentional nut shot.

With Kovalev in that position, I don't see how you can call that last punch a shot to the nuts or intentionally low or anything that can be interpreted as "dirty fighting" from Ward as has been alleged by many Kovalev fans.
