Sergey Kovalev to work with Buddy McGirt as his new trainer?

Anne Wolfe! Get his cardio way up! These guys aren't going to improve his skill skill set. The man is a world class talent! His only down fall is self disapline. He gets his stamina up, he will be able to carry that skill set late into fights.

 

Kovalev has had an excellent career. Shame your picks for the top all are failures - You claimed Amir Imam was the 'future of boxing' !!hahaha! and tipped Rob Brant and Lamont Roach for big things

 

He should have gone with Robert Garcia, or persuaded Anatoly Lomachenko to train him for one fight.

 

I've never really liked Kovalev as a man. Something always felt a bit off with him, like there wad something sinister lurking beneath the surface. It's just a bad vibe I think he gives out despite being one of the sports more entertaining champions fight wise.

I've also always liked and rated Buddy but as others have said he only seems to get his hands on underdogs so ita hard to judge how far he could take a truly elite talent on their way up.

It won't matter. He is his own man and will go as far as his body and self-motivation take him.

He looks older than what he is

 

I hate the "too old" bs Stevenson was 35 or 36 when he won the Lineal title...
35 aint too old he's comparable age to Jack and Alvarez. Alvarez is what 33 or 34 and in his prime. and Kovalev is 35 and old?? I'd prefer people would say Kovalev is past his prime which is true. His aura is gone, people know he has some weaknesses.

However the fact he even changed trainers shows that HE KNOWS he has some issues and is trying to get them out there. I don't know if Buddy is a good choice but it can be good or bad. What did McGirt do good though, told fighters to "tap to the body to win rounds"

The fight is a massive question mark Kovalev might be done at the top level but he might not be.

 

I personally think it’s to late for Kovalev. He has abused his body.

 

He's been abusing your heroes one by one for the vast majority of his career.
