Kovalev went to the UK and fought the hostile crowd, Terry O'Connor, and the undefeated, but somewhat overrated titleholder Nathan Cleverly, making it look like a walk in the park to win one of the 4 major belts, and yet you don't give him credit :huh
he deserves credit for beating Dawson, Cloud and Bellew, i give him credit where it's due, but this running away to hide behind Al and Showtime is disgraceful, especially after all the **** he said about Kova, hopefully he gets the winner of Hopkins-Shumi and then we have ourselves a 4 belt + Ring Magazine unification bout at LHW :deal
stevenson has had better competition. after watching last nights fight now he knows he can beat kovalev. i expect to see them fight before the year is over. stevenson by ko.
Kova was #1 IBF, but because he is with HBO and Hopkins is Showtime, he went to Cleverly's hometown and won the WBOgus Stevenson is the champion at 175, Kova is only a beltholder, but the #1 in the division should not be avoiding the #2 man, but despite Stevenson signing to fight with Showtime, I hope Stevenson-Kovalev happens, if not this year, then early 2015 at most!
You can call it a ***** move all you like, in the end this is a business and if someone is lucky enough to get the offer Stevenson got you bet he's going to jump all over it without thinking twice including Kovalev. That said, the more the public demand this fight the bigger it gets and that's better for both fighters. Hopkins may be a 50 year old but he's not an easy task for both Stevenson and Kovalev.
Kovalev by stoppage around R8-R10. Stevenson would probably win 2 of the first 3 but then Kovalev would take over.
Stevenson/Kovalev is a 50/50 fight, but Stevenson is the Ring/WBC champ, so in theory he is #1, btw both guys beat Hopkins at this point
Anybody is delusional to think that Kovalev stands a chance. I dont think you know how hard Adonis hits.
