It always bothers me when you see a worn around the edges veteran get lined up to be fed to a young lion only to put on a great performance and get robbed. Almost everyone there thought he was just looking for a check. I hope he is at least able to receive a few more opportunities after this fight.

Now down to business. COME BACK AND DO THE RBR THREADS! At least for the big fights like the one that just happened.

Everything we asked for except the contemptuous corruption of the officials and the referee.

Interestingly, this has become the 50th most-viewed thread in forum history. (600 peeks ahead of Mayweather vs. Álvarez currently).

The only RBR threads ahead of it (strictly in terms of views) are, in ascending order, Cotto vs. Álvarez, Pacquiao vs. JMM IV, Pacquiao vs. Bradley II, Bute vs. Froch, Fury vs. Chisora II, Mayweather vs. Maidana, Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, Mayweather vs. Guerrero, and Pacquiao vs. Bradley I.

Now, why more people were bothered to click on the Mayweather-Guerrero than Mayweather-Pacquiao thread is beyond me. :watchout:

Mayweather vs. Guerrero is also randomly the #2 all time most replied-to (among RBR threads specifically, not threads period), behind Pacquiao vs. Bradley I - go figure.

Kovalev vs. Ward is currently tied for #20 with Mayweather vs. Maidana II (about to bump past it with this very post)

Anyone who game Kovalev round 3 doesn't know how to score a fight. I can't believe only one judge gave that round to Ward. I've just watched it 3 times. Ward landed the cleaner shots. He made Kov miss looping shots. It was a great bounce back round from being knocked down in the second. That said it was slightly close but Ward edged it. I'm just now getting to the fight after a long weekend. A lot of posters here watch with too much emotion. I will be updating what I see.

Also don't believe punch stats too much. HBO always pads numbers to try to make the fight seem more entertaining for viewers. Kovalev did not throw 100 "power" punches by round 4 as I see HBO show their punchstats at the end of Round 3.

Round 10 was probably one of the greatest championships rounds I've seen in years. Both fighters were toe to toe. Unbelievable ****ing round.

Ward won. It was not a robbery at all. Foyt easily. Best fight I've seen in years. Ward and Kov should easily be p4p 1 and 2. Best fighters today in boxing.

Ten scale, how well did this live up to expectations?

I'd give it a 7½. It was definitely no FOTY, nor quite Fischer vs. Spassky, but it was somewhere betwixt and objectively a GOOD fight if you ignore the hype or controversy surrounding the outcome.
